Children of the Wind

Last week I attended a special day called "The taste of Bonaire". Bonaire is a sister Island to Aruba and is also part of the Dutch Caribbean. Bonaire has only about 15.000 inhabitants and depends highly on Tourism. IN Turn, its Tourism depends highly on their Nature. Bonaire has one of the most beautiful coral reefs in The Cariebbean and even the World. They also host the largets Flamingo colony in the region. They are not called Divers Paradise for nothing.

But today i want to share a different story from Bonaire with you. Their People, and especially their young people. Growing up in the Dutch Caribbean myself I fell akin to them and felt really proud with their recent achievements.
We are talking about Windsurfing. Bonaire is the cradle of a new stream and creations of Freestyle windsurfing. And I guess that destiny brought them together with Robert McCormick (Film Producer).

It shows us how something big can come out of something small. When Caribbean people use their passion and spirit to create something great. This really makes me proud to be Caribbean.

The documentary will be out soon, and I am eager to see it. Hope you will be curious and excited as well.
